Our products have many industrial uses. FESPOL® – The iron(II) sulphate is mainly used in the cement industry for reduction of hexavalent chromium. It is used also in production of iron coagulants for water purification and wastewaters treatment. In agriculture it is used as a component of fertilizing mixtures and in animal feeds is a rich source of microelements. It can be used in manufacture of iron pigments and to wood finishing.

Cement, composed mainly of limestone, clay and sand is used primarily for the production of mortar and concrete. Unfortunately, naturally occurring limestone and clay often contain too high levels of chromium (VI) which may cause allergic skin reactions.

Taking into consideration the health of workers employed in the manufacture of cement and its customers in the European Union level content of Cr (VI) in cement was limited initially by the European Parliament Directive 2003/53 / EC, and now by Regulation 1907/2006 / EC concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH). According to Annex XVII of this Regulation cement should contain a reducing agent, which is mixed with water, that reduces chromium (VI) to below 2 ppm (2 mg / kg) and maintains that level for at least 60 days from the date of manufacture of cement.

These requirements are implemented by adding carefully selected reducers during the grinding of clinker or in the final stages of cement production.

The most accessible, effective and at the same time a relatively low-cost reducers is iron(II) sulphate also produced by the Grupa Azoty Zakłady Chemiczne „Police” S.A. and sold under the brand name FESPOL®. A wide range of grades allows to choose the most appropriate and effective regulator to the specifics of the cement. Our products are characterized by efficiency, ease of storage and dispensing.

KNOWLEDGE BASE

Iron(II) sulphate as an intermediate manufactured during the production of TiO2

Generally, titanium dioxide is white, but has a slightly yellowish color due to the absorption of the visible light portion of the particles corresponding to the blue color.

Iron sulphate – respected intermediate product used in the chemical industry

For many years, ferrous sulfate is used for production coagulants and wastewater treatment. It is also used for the production of iron pigments. In the cement industry is used as the reducing agent of hexavalent [...]
